1. What are firring strips?
Firring strips are tapered lengths of timber used in roofing to create a slight slope on flat roofs. This gradient allows rainwater to drain off effectively, preventing water pooling and potential damage.
2. How are firring strips installed?
Firring strips are installed on top of roof joists or rafters. The thicker end of the strip is placed at the highest point of the roof, tapering down to the thinner end at the lowest point. The roofing deck or boards are then laid over the firring strips to create a sloped surface.

Our firring strips are available in thicknesses ranging from 3" tapering down to 0" up to 9" tapering down to 0". They come in various lengths from 3 metres up to 9.6 metres, allowing you to choose the appropriate size for your roofing project.
